Notes

  • antibiotic duration is 4-7 days if source of infection is controlled
  • minimum of 2 weeks if GPC bacteremia (enterococci or streptococci) is present

If residual stones or obstruction of the bile duct are present, treatment should be continued until these anatomical problems are resolved.

If MRSA or Enterococci are suspected, ADD

If VRE is known to be colonizing in the patient or previous treatment included Vancomycin, ADD
