General Information

Therapy of Streptococcal and Enterococcal infections as well as susceptible gram-negative infections.

Commonly used for upper respiratory infections and urinary tract infections.

Monitor CBC, renal function.

Perform culture and susceptibility tests during treatment, and clinical/bacteriological follow-up after discontinuation.

Precautions:

  • Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs.

  • Dose adjustment recommended with oral capsules, tablets, suspension, and chewable tablets in patients with severe renal impairment or hemodialysis.

  • Discontinuation may be required in Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea or if anaphylactic reactions occur.
