General Information

Monitor respiratory function in patients with underlying airway disease.

  • Cough
  • Nasal symptom
  • Respiratory depression
  • Fever
  • Pain in throat

Serious

  • Cardiac dysrhythmia
  • Rash
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Hypersensitivity reaction
  • Seizure
  • Bronchospasm
  • Edema of pharynx
  • Abnormal behavior
  • Delirium

Influenza virus vaccine, live- do not administer within 2 weeks before or 48 hours after zanamivir

Antimicrobial class: Antiviral, Neuraminidase inhibitor

Pregnancy category: C

Average serum half life: 2.5-5.1 hours

Precautions: Administration by mechanical ventilator or reconstitution in any liquid for nebulization is not recommended.

Use not recommended with underlying airway disease, such as asthma or COPD.

Discontinuation recommended if bronchospasm or decline in respiratory function develops.

Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs or is suspected.
