Spectrum Of Activity

General Information

  • Acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pumonary disease (COPD)
  • Chronic bronchitis
  • Emphysema

Zabofloxacin is used for patients who do not have other treatment options.

  • Anaphylactic shock
  • CNS effects
  • Psychosis
  • Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome
  • Toxic epidermal necrolysis
  • Al or Mg-containing antacids
  • Fe-containing agents
  • Ca-containing agents
  • Zn or Fe-containing multivitamins
  • Theophylline
  • Warfarin

Increase the risk of central nervous irritation and convulsive seizures

  • Quinolone antibacterial agents
  • NSAIDs (i.e. phenylacetic acid, propionic acid)

Antimicrobial class: Fluoroquinolone

Pregnancy category: C

Associated with disability and potentially irreversible serious adverse reactions with the following symptoms:

  • Tendinitis and tendon rupture
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Central nervous system effect
  • May be more severe in patients with myasthenia gravis
