General Information

  • Acute otitis media
  • Bronchitis, chronic, acute bacterial exacerbation
  • Community-acquired pneumonia
  • Skin and/or subcutaneous tissue infection, uncomplicated
  • Maxillary sinusitis, acute
  • Pharyngitis - Tonsillitis

Monitor fever; CBC; symptomatic improvement; hepatic and renal functions.

Monitor previous hypersensitivity to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Monitor signs of serum-sickness-like reactions, and antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

  • Toxic epidermal necrolysis
  • Clostridium difficile colitis
  • Hepatitis

  • Combination oral contraceptives

Precautions: Dose reduction recommended in patients with renal insufficiency.

Emergence and overgrowth of resistant pathogens may occur with prolonged therapy; close observation recommended; alternative therapy is required if superinfection occurs.

Use with caution in patients with history of colitis and penicillin hypersensitivity.

Oral suspension contains sucrose and should be used with caution in patients with diabetes.
