General Information

  • Aspergillosis, invasive, salvage therapy
  • Candidemia
  • Candidiasis of the esophagus
  • Candidiasis of the esophagus- HIV infection
  • Febrile neutropenia, empiric antifungal therapy
  • Invasive candidiasis, intra-abdominal abscesses, peritonitis, or pleural space infections

Monitor microbiologic clearance.

Monitor fever, and CBC with differential of neutrophil count.

Common

  • Hypotension
  • Rash
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Increased liver enzymes
  • Complication of infusion

Serious

  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome
  • Toxic epidermal necrolysis
  • Pancreatitis
  • Hepatic necrosis
  • Liver failure
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Sepsis
  • Septic shock
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Nephrotoxicity
  • Liver failure
  • Respiratory distress
  • Respiratory failure
  • Pleural effusion
  • Angioedema
  • Cyclosporine - increased plasma levels
  • Tacrolimus - reduced plasma levels

Urine penetration: Therapeutic

Precautions:

  • Monitoring recommended for liver function test abnormalities.
  • Discontinue at first sign or symptom of hypersensitivity reactions.
