Nonfermenting aerobic gram-negative bacillus

Ubiquitous, water-associated pathogen, easily selected for by the administration of non-antipseudomonal antimicrobials.

May be a colonizer of diseased airways and other sites

Important pathogen of generally hospital acquired infections including:

  • UTI
  • Pneumonia - HAP/VAP
  • CNS
  • Intra-abdominal infections
  • Bacteremia
  • Vascular catheter infection
  • Burns/wound infection
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Others
