General Susceptibility

Anti-staphylococcal penicillins (i.e. nafcillin) and cephalosporins (i.e. cefazolin) are optimal agents for intravenous therapy of MSSA infections. Beta-lactams are preferred but if true allergy, alternative options include TMP-SMX, tetracyclines or for serious infections vancomycin, daptomycin or linezolid may be used.
