General Information

Febrile neutropenia in pediatrics: 1) With penicillin allergy or 2) Receiving methotrexate

Need to add metronidazole if worry of anaerobic infection

  • Thrombocytopenia, neutropenia

  • Non-convulsive status epilepticus

  • Transient liver function test increase

  • Diarrhea

Antimicrobial class: 4th generation Cephalosporin

Pregnancy category: B

Average serum half life: 2 hours

Urine penetration: Therapeutic

Lung penetration: Therapeutic

CSF penetration: Therapeutic

Biliary penetration: Moderate

Route of Elimination: Renal clearance (60% unchanged)
