General Information

  • Uncomplicated anogenital gonorrhea infection (urethral, endocervical, vaginal, rectal) combine with azithromycin 1 g PO in a single dose

  • Can be used for other infections resistant to first line agents but susceptible to cefixime

Any gonorrhea infection in men who have sex with men OR pharyngeal infection in men or women, preferred therapy is:

  • Ceftriaxone 250 mg IM PLUS azithromycin 1 g PO in a single dose
