EOS Risk Factors
- Maternal GBS colonization or GBS bacteriuria at any time in the pregnancy
- Previous infant with GBS sepsis/meningitis
- Premature rupture of membranes (ROM) - rupture of membranes prior to onset of labor
- Maternal infection (e.g. urinary tract infection)
- Preterm labor, with spontaneous onset, especially prior to 32 weeks GA
- Prolonged ROM (more than 18 hours duration)
- Maternal chorioamnionitis: maternal fever, maternal/fetal tachycardia, foul smelling fluid and tender uterus
- Maternal fever (at or greater than 38°C)
- Maternal infection (e.g. urinary tract infection)
