Dosing

General Information

Therapy of suspected and confirmed invasive fungal infections, especially Candida infections.

Acceptable Uses

  • First-Line Therapy
    • Neutropenic fever if receiving fluconazole prophylactically and empiric antifungal therapy is indicated
    • Treatment of candidemia in patients who are not clinically stable or have received prior azole therapy
    • Empiric treatment of endocarditis
    • Treatment of invasive candidiasis due to C. glabrata or C. krusei
    • Treatment of recurrent esophageal candidiasis
  • Alternative (Second-Line) Therapy
    • Invasive aspergillosis in combination with voriconazole or amphotericin B
  • Periodic LFTs, SCr, CBC
  • Monitor for infusion reactions
  • Increased liver enzymes
  • GI upset
  • Infusion reactions

Increases levels of sirolimus and nifedipine (mild).
