Clinical Considerations

  • Patients that had structural and functional abnormality of genitourinary tract, such as:
    • Obstruction: Calculi, prostatic hypertrophy, tumors of the urinary tract, pregnancy radiation therapy, ureteric or urethral strictures, polycystic kidney disease
    • Instrumentation: Indwelling urethral catheter, uretric stent, nephrostomy tubes, and urological procedures
    • Impaired voiding: Neurogenic bladder
  • Patients who are immunocompromised: under immunosuppressants, diabetes, neutropenic

Definitive therapy should be optimized on the basis of culture and susceptibility results
