Simple Skin and Soft Tissue Infections

Simple Skin and Soft Tissue Infections

Clinical Considerations

  • Recommendations do not address necrotizing fasciitis, diabetic foot infections, deep seeded, nor complicated skin and soft tissue infections in immunocompromised patients

  • Antibiotic dosing assumes normal renal function

Mild abscess without surrounding cellulitis may be cured with lancing (irrigation and debridement: send for cultures) alone and no antibiotics
