Liver function tests

TDM through HPLC for itraconazole and bioactive hydroxy-itraconazole metabolite

  • Sum of both considered in assessing levels, with treatment success with concentrations ≥ 1 mg/L and toxicity with concentrations >5 mg/L
  • Bioassay levels are 3-7x higher than measured by HPLC
  • Drug interactions

  • Hepatic enzyme abnormalities

  • Rash

  • Alopecia

  • GI upset

Many via CYP450. Suggest review specific patient medications.
