Caspofungin is often used in management of suspected and confirmed invasive fungal infections, particularly Candidiasis and Aspergillosis.
Infusion-related reactions (rash, pruritis)
Increase liver enzymes
GI upset
Decreases levels of Tacrolimus
Cyclosporine may increase levels of Caspofungin
Rifampin may decrease Caspofungin concentrations
Echinocandins achieve therapeutic concentrations in all infection sites with the exception of the eye, CNS, and urine.
