Antimicrobial therapy should only be considered for complicated infection (e.g. bacteremia, high fever, hospitalized, >8 stools per day) or for groups at increased risk of invasive infection: neonates (up to 3 months old), persons >50 years old with atherosclerosis, immunosuppressed, cardiac disease (valvular or endovascular) or significant joint disease
Administer corrective IV fluids and electrolytes as appropriate
