General Information

Fermenting gram negative rod of the Enterobacterales family, and a known ampC beta-lactamase producer.

GI flora, especially in hospitalized patients. Also found in water and soil.

Infection usually in nosocomial setting.

Nosocomial infections:

  • Pneumonia (HAP)
  • UTI
  • Wound infections
  • Intra-abdominal infections
  • Prosthetic device and line infections
