Dosing

General Information

  • H. pylori infection (as part of quadruple therapy)
  • Preferred in UTI as has best urinary penetration of class

For most other infections, doxycycline preferred for less frequent dosing.

  • GI upset and erosive esophagitis
  • Photosensitivity rash
  • Teeth staining
  • Divalent cations - decreased absorption
  • Increased digoxin levels
  • Increased INR with warfarin
