Spectrum of Activity

General Information

Mostly used for MSSA infections.

Periodic CBC and renal and hepatic function tests.

  • Allergy (immediate or delayed)
  • Seizures
  • Cytopenias
  • Eosinophilia
  • Interstitial nephritis
  • Abnormal liver enzymes
  • GI effects
  • May increase serum methotrexate levels
  • May DECREASE INR in patients receiving warfarin
  • Can cause phlebitis if given peripherally
  • Central line preferred for tolerance
