Drug of choice for MSSA infections, except for CNS involvement.
Skin and soft tissue infection (e.g. cellulitis).
Surgical prophylaxis.
Susceptible Staphylococcal, Streptococcal and gram negative infections.
Generally very well tolerated. Adverse events possible but uncommonly reported.
No major interactions.
Cost per day based on dose of 2g IV q8h.
