Restricted to use in gram-negative infections (no gram positive coverage) where no prior beta-lactams have been tolerated and patient has a severe PCN or cephalosporin allergy.
Monitor liver enzymes.
No significant interactions.
Cost based on dose of 1g IV q8h.
