Inpatient UTI

IV Treatment Options

Empiric treatment of children <2 months of age should be with IV antibiotics

AND

Reassess antibiotics once culture results are available

Oral Treatment Options

  • For uncomplicated UTI in children ≥2 months of age

OR

  • For oral step-down from IV antibiotics

OR

Allergy Alternative (Severe Beta-lactam allergy)

OR

Note: Ciprofloxacin, and tobramycin do not have coverage against Enterococcus spp.
