Droplet / Contact Precautions

For 24 hours of appropriate antimicrobial therapy

Diagnostics

  • Individualized therapy recommended in consultation with ID, ENT, ophthalmology

  • Diagnosis is confirmed by computed tomography

Treatment

  • If MRSA risk factors, failed 1st line treatment, or systemically unwell
  • Use in place of cloxacillin

Oral Step-Down Therapy

Duration of Therapy

Minimum of 3-5 days of IV therapy, with a usual total duration of 2-3 weeks
