Commonly found on skin, conjunctiva, external ear, oropharynx, female genital tract.
When isolated from blood culture, usually a skin contaminant.
Acne - C. acnes stimulates an inflammatory response in sebaceous follicles.
Topical treatment with benzoyl peroxide or topical antibiotics is generally effective for acne.
