Baseline Bloodwork STAT - Prior to Starting Antibiotics

  • Blood culture (aerobic and anaerobic) two sets at two separate puncture sites -Nasopharyngeal FLOQ swab for COVID NAT

Also consider:

  • CBC with automated white blood cell differential
  • Creatinine -Nasopharyngeal FloqSwab using the Copan UTM kit for rapid influenza A/B NAT ( refer to Influenza-Like Illness Antepartum/Postpartum order set on ePOPs

Consider Baseline Urine STAT - Prior to Starting Antibiotics

  • Urinalysis
  • Urine culture

Consider Antibiotic Monitoring

  • Gentamicin levels before and after 3rd regular dose
