General Information

Non-fermenting gram negative rod, of the Enterobacteriaceae family

GI flora, especially in hospitalized patients.

Infection usually in nosocomial setting.

  • Hospital acquired infections, especially UTI and post-operative wound infections

  • Neonatal sepsis

  • Bacteremia in immunocompromised hosts

  • Peritonitis

  • Central nervous system infection

  • Endophthalmitis

  • Pneumonia

  • Chorioamnionitis

  • Pyomyositis

  • Necrotizing fasciitis

  • Arthritis

May require contact precautions if highly resistant.
