Normal respiratory flora.
Invasive disease sharply declined after Hib conjugate vaccine widely used. Most invasive disease is now caused by non-typable strains.
May cause invasive disease including:
Droplet precautions for pediatric pneumonia or epiglottitis until 24 hours after effective treatment.
