Dosing

General Information

  • Treatment of invasive MSSA
  • Preferred over cefazolin if require CNS penetration
  • Allergy (immediate or delayed)
  • Cytopenias
  • Eosinophilia
  • Interstitial nephritis
  • Abnormal liver enzymes
  • Phlebitis at injection site in a peripheral vein
  • Can increase methotrexate levels

  • Decrease mycophenolate levels

  • Tetracyclines may diminish cloxacillin activity
