Dosing

General Information

  • Mostly used for MSSA infections
  • Drug of choice for CNS MSSA infection
  • Allergy/rash (immediate or delayed)
  • Seizures
  • Cytopenias
  • Eosinophilia
  • Interstitial nephritis
  • Abnormal liver enzymes
  • Serum sickness
  • May increase serum methotrexate levels
  • May DECREASE INR in patients receiving warfarin
  • Can cause phlebitis if given peripherally.
  • Central line preferred for tolerance.
