Nonfermenting aerobic gram negative bacillus.

Ubiquitous, water-associated pathogen, easily selected for by the administration of antimicrobials.

Common in hospital environment.

May be a colonizer of diseased airways and other sites.

Important pathogen of nosocomial infections including:

  • UTI
  • Pneumonia (HAP/VAP)
  • CNS
  • Intra-abdominal
  • Bacteremia
  • Vascular catheter infection
  • Burns/wound infection
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Others
