General Information

Gram negative rod, of the Enterobacteriaceae family.

Is often and AmpC producing organisms.

Produces class A cephalosporinase, a type of beta-lactamase.

Most commonly UTI, but also causes other nosocomial infections.

May require contact precautions if highly resistant organism
