Mild-moderate infection: 2 g q12h

Cystitis: 1 g q12h

  • Cystitis: 500 mg q24h- Severe infection: 2 g q24h

General Information

Broad spectrum antimicrobial with gram positive and gram negative coverage including Pseudomonas.

Used especially nosocomial infections involving resistant organisms.

  • Altered mental status, confusion

  • Allergy (immediate & delayed)

  • Positive Coombs

  • Cytopenias

  • Non-convulsive status epilepticus

Antimicrobial class: 4th generation Cephalosporin

Average serum half life: 2 hours

Urine penetration: Therapeutic

Lung penetration: Therapeutic

CSF penetration: Therapeutic
