Acute Respiratory Viruses

Definitions

These symptoms can be present with any viral respiratory infection, including COVID. These symptoms can be present with/without pneumonia.

Including:

  • Fever or feeling feverish/chills (may not be present)
  • Cough
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Sore throat
  • Cold-like symptoms

With influenza the following are more common:

  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue/lethargy
  • Vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children)
