General Information

Non-fermenting aerobic gram negative bacilli.

Ubiquitous, water-associated pathogen.

Common in hospital environment.

May be a colonizer of airways in severe structural lung disease and other sites.

Important pathogen of generally nosocomial infections including:

  • UTI
  • Pneumonia - HAP/VAP
  • CNS
  • Intra-abdominal infections
  • Bacteremia
  • Vascular catheter infection
  • Burns/wound infection
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Others
