Gram positive cocci in clusters, slide coagulase positive

Staphylococcus lugdunensis is a ubiquitous organism that colonizes the skin and can cause invasive disease

Staphylococcus lugdunensis is a highly virulent organism and should be managed in the same manner as Staphylococcus aureus; infection manifests as pyogenic skin and soft tissue infection, MSK infection, endocarditis, abscess, pneumonia, infection of prosthetic devices and others

Add droplet if patient has a cough
