Note

This score predicts the probability of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) - producing Enterobacteriaceae bloodstream isolates in patients with suspected or confirmed gram-negative bloodstream infections (BSI).

Outpatient procedures include invasive and non-invasive gastrointestinal and genitourinary procedures.

  • Short term perioperative antibiotics do not qualify as a course of antibiotics.
  • Multiple courses of antibiotics have to be at least 3 days apart. Concurrent or sequential therapy is considered one course.
