Adequate (intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis) IAP consists of at least one dose given at least 4 h before birth of:

  • IV penicillin G or ampicillin
  • OR cefazolin if penicillin allergy documented

Clindamycin and vancomycin are not considered adequate IAP
