Diffuse peritonitis OR severe sepsis
Severe Sepsis
Severe sepsis is defined by all three of:
Antibiotic use >2d within 30d
Delayed (>24h) or inability to achieve source control
Admission to hospital for ≥5d OR immunocompromised
Community acquired infection
Early surgery (<24h) for gastric, duodenal or proximal jejunal perforation without cancer, or anti-acid therapy
